Prof. Abdul Jaleel Khan M Pathan, our Vice Chancellor, has been appointed as the first Vice Chancellor of the newly established Central University of Karnataka located at Gulbarga. Prof. Pathan, who took over as VC of MANUU on 19th March, 2004, announced his new assignment immediately after the NAAC visit to the University concluded on 28th Feb, 2009.
Incidentally Prof. Pathan was also on the three-member Central team that visited the proposed site of the Central university at Kadaganchi and Suntanoor in Aland taluk of Gulbarga in December 2008.
The immensely experienced Prof. Pathan is also the President of the Association of Indian Universities, and had earlier been VC of Karnataka University at Dharwad for two terms and served Bangalore University as its Registrar and acting VC.
