Sub: Re-designation of Lecturers and Readers as Assistant and Associate Professors – Reg.

Dear Sir,

This is to bring to your kind notice that the new pay scales issued by the MHRD suggest only three categories of teaching fraternity at the University/College levels i.e., Professor, Associate Professor and Assistant Professor with retrospective effect from 01.01.2006. As there is no direct recruitment to the post of Reader in the new pay scales, Readers appointed in MANUU after 01.01.2006 be automatically treated and re-designated as Associate Professors.

Moreover, all the Lecturers with PhD, who have completed four years of service be allowed an AGP of Rs.7000/- in Pay Band 3. All the Lecturers be re-designated as Assistant Professors as per the new Pay Commission recommendations.
